1989 Force 85 HP power head cooling

Hello all - I have a 1989 Force 85 HP power head rebuild project and need some help.

Background: low pressure on cylinder #1. Upon inspection #1 cylinder overheated on one side and caused the Aluminum to melt and adhere to the cylinder wall. Honing has rectified the cylinder wall problem, a new piston set will be ordered.

Problem: The three (I call them Dams) rubber dams, in the water jacket around the cylinders, are in place - but I found rubber pieces also in the water jacket around the cylinders (which I think contributed to the overheat). I can't seem to find any information on where and how many dams are in the block. I need to know (for peace of mind) that there isn't another one not in place.

Any place to find this information?

Did you find loose "dams" or pieces of rubber?

Those pieces look like old impeller pieces.

Hence the reason i would like to know how many and the location of all "dams" located on the block.

I have a 1988 Force 85. There are no rubber dams.Sounds like a disintegrated impeller which, of course, has to be removed. Pic of what my block looks like
