1989 Force 85hp sputters when WOT!!!

I have a 1989 Force 85hp outboard. Starts right up, Idles great, When I push the controls to WOT it hesitates and sputters for about 5 seconds then it opens up and runs great. When i throttle back down it runs fine then when I WOT it again it does the same thing hesitates and sputters for about 5 secs again and clears right out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sounds like the timing is a little too far advance or the idle mixture screws are not set properly. Start with the easy ones first by double checking the idle mixture screws setting. They should at least be at 1 - 1 1/8 turn out from slightly seated. Experiment with the settings and find out which setting gives you a better shot out of the hole. Others had gone as high as 1 1/2 turn although most stayed at 1 1/8 due to plug fouling. But never go below one turn out.
