I have a 1989 Force 9.9. The model is #92F9A, and the serial number is #1165. It would run for a while and then foul the plugs and won't restart. I rebuilt the carb., and replaced the original membrane in the fuel pump. Now I can't get it to run. It seems to have good spark and compression, so it seems to be a fuel problem, but I am out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated?? Thanks!!

Does the primer bulb pump up? see if there is fuel getting up to the motor first and go from there.

Re: 1989 Force 9.9 HP Help???

At first I had no spark. Adjusting the point gap and new plugs took care of that. I ran it for a half hour or so, and it wouldn't restart. The plugs looked fouled, so I thought it was a carb problem. I cleaned the carb and replaced the needle. The carb kit didn't come with the seat (Mercruiser Parts says the seat is not replaceable). The motor started seemed to run fine. I started it and restarted it over the course of a few hours. After a total of about 1/2 hour of total run time it wouldn't start again, and the plugs looked fouled. I replaced the fuel pump membrane thinking that maybe fuel was leaking past it, but I can't get the thing to run now. The primer bulb seemed OK. I'm just plain out of ideas????
