1989 johnson 110 is turning off.

I have two 110 johnson's and they were running perfectly. But now one of them is truning off on me when i idle it. Can someone plz help?

When was it last serviced, carbs rebuilt?
Got tools? service manual?

You could try a timing light on the plug wires to see if the ignition is dropping out or if its fuel delivery.
Does the fuel bulb collapse?
Do they use the same tank or seperate systems.
Are you on a hose or in the water when it does this?

You'll get better response if you describe everything .

I have a 150 that doesn't like to idle on the hose but will idle all day in the water.

When i bought the boat the motor that is truning off was supposely just checked out by a mechanic, but i have no idea when it was last serviced.
I have my own tools and im thinking about buying the service manual and cleaning the carbs myself.
I don't know how to do the timing light if you can plz explain.
And yes both engines use the same gas tank and the other one runs perfectly fine. I haven't put the boat in the water yet since im trying to make sure that everything is working properly before i go out.
