1989 Johnson 50hp won’t trim down

Having a problem with the trim and tilt on my 1989 Johnson 50hp vro (J50BELCEC). There is no power trim and tilt. It is stuck tilted up and will not lower. I am having trouble finding the nut to drain the hydraulic fluid. If I were to drain the hydraulic fluid would I be able to lower it? Has anyone else had this problem or would be able to give any recommendations?

The lever is broken. I’m still able to manually tilt it up. It just won’t tilt back to fully lowered

If you can grab the end of the cable where the lever is broken with a pair of pliers on pull on it it should lower.

Likely not a good idea to try and drain any fluid on these.

I replaced one of those levers many years ago and it wasn’t cheap. I want to say it was around 60 or 70 bucks I had the part number written down on the wall and it’s still there.
0431962 was the number back in the day give a look and see what you find
