1989 Johnson J110MLCEM. Bearing housing removal... seal replacement... tips???

This is something new for me. From the diagram it looks like there are maybe 4 screws that I will have to reach into the housing to remove then slide out the housing seal assembly. Right? Got any tips? I've got to replace the seals and o'ring. Is this how it's done?

I built me a puller and this thing won't budge!!!!!
Removed 4 bolts... what am I doing wrong? Is it just stuck?

If you are trying to get #28 out then they get really stuck in the case. Try some penetrating oil and heat ( not acetylene) . It will surely try your patience.

Thanks... It was really stuck but I've dealt with worse. I'm just not all that familiar with Johnnyrudes. I used a steering wheel puller and made some hooks out of 3/8" allthread to build a puller... worked fine once I got it free. I scraped the housing down pretty good to get rid of the gook that had grown in it, soaked the joint with PB and put some pulling force on it. After I tapped around it with a hammer it gave and came right on out. The scary part was putting it back in and getting the bolts to line up with the plate but it only took about 3 attempts to get it in... no serious problem and a few good bucks made today. THANKS!
