Just got me a new project (pictured below). 1989 Bass Tracker Tournament TX17 with a 50 horse Johnson. Motor has 117 and 119 compression and fires up easy and sounds good - just needs impeller as it's not moving water. Boat has a couple of wiring issues and needs cleaned up as well as replacing damaged carpet on a couple of hatches. Looking forward to enjoying this doing some fishing with son and friends.
BUT - before I can do all that, I need to fix the PT&T unit. The previous owner - who seemed mildly mechanical at best - decided to take the unit apart and had know idea what to do with it, so left it sit. So, I've never worked on one of these would love some advice to help me know what I should order parts-wise and tips for installation to get this thing going again. Check out the pictures (in post to follow from phone) and fire away please.
