A load of muddy silt got sucked into the lower unit and stopped the water from coming thru the tell-tale, i shut the motor down immediately.
when i got home i tried to back flush it thru the tell tale hose before i started the motor on muffs and idled it for about half a minute and upon noticing that it was not peeing as strong as before, i again shut it down.
What is the correct procedure for me to rectifing this snafu?

Start by removeing the telltale hose from the fitting on the inside of the cowl, let ti hang over the back of the cowl, hook it back on the muff and turn the water on high, if the impeller is bad it will ussally let water by and it wiil come out the telltale after a minute or so, if it don't start the engine back up to flush the hose to the telltall if you get good flow tnen clean the telltale fitting, if not you may have a plugged thermostat or water passage under the exhaust covers
