The water flow from the peehole is only about 120 degrees, I ran the engine on muffs and felt of the heads, I can hold my hands on them, hot but does not feel like 140 degree where they should be. The water flow from pee hole was not real strong. I had the engine turned off, then took the hose loose from the cowling, put my water hose on the rubber tube had ran water back through the system. (That gave me better water flow, must have cleared out something) but my question is, should I have had water coming out of the exhaust through the prop and the 2 holes under the cavatition plate? Is my thermostats or poppet valve stuck open?<br />Motor runs rough at idle( always has since new)but is great at 3500-5000k w/good water flow.

Your motor sounds pretty normal. You will not stress the motor enough, on the muffs, to heat it up to the upper limit(140'). Hot to the touch is just what you want..... and yes the water discharge is normal too. I still say that a "Water Pressure Guage" is an important tool in motor cooling...more so that a temp guage. Your motor looks normal.
