Reganthorn - I believe you have similar problem as I have, in that the low oil warning module is discontinued.
Browns point advised me that on my 87 150SS, all that I had to do was disconnect it and the CDI would no longer receive the normal signal that motor was low on oil and go into safe mode, and would start firing all cylinders again. I've used mine for 2 years that way, with no problems. Here is a link to Browns Point to the parts microfiche for that area of your motor.

The item #8 is the low oil warning module - listed as discontinued - hope that helps, and in any case disconnecting it, will at least isolate whether that is in fact your problem. If its not the low oil warning module, then you'll know that it could be in the electrical as was mentioned in the previous post to my original post.
Bottom line is if you don't know much about working on one of these, you can do what I did and educate yourself by working on them trial and error, and if all else fails then take it to your local mechanic and tell them what steps you did which will ultimately save you money by shortening his diagnostics procedure.
