I own a 1989 DT75 pushing an aquasport 175 stiper classic. I love my motor and I have out-run plenty 90 HP yamaha's. i am wondering though if anyone knows, is my 1989 Suzuki DT75 a 20-inch shaft, or a 25-inch shaft?
well you can measure from the transom to the bottom of the hull but in 89 I dont think the 75 was offered in a 25" model.or measure from the bracket to the ventalation plate on will be roughly 25 the other 20 or maybe 15 if its short.
20" ...... it is not difficult to out-run bigger hp engines with lower hp engines, it all depends on your prop and the height position of your engine and obviously the weight and built of your boat, I have a 50hp yamaha on a pencil inflatable (pencil duck as we call it) that outruns a 200hp on a speedboat ... get my point?
