Hello again,

I have a quick question. Do any of you have a picture of what the correct color operation a spark plug looks like after it has been running on a two stroke engine? I was just wondering. My engine seems to run fine I just am not sure what the plug should look like after it has ben running a while on the engine. I have a 1989 Evinrude 88 horsepower SPL v-4 Outboard. Thank you a picture would be great

From what I've read in the Clymer book (conventional gap spark plug)
NORMAL: Light tan to gray color of insulator indicates correct heat range. Few deposits are present and the electrodes are not burned.

It's just like on a four-stroke, or like your car or truck, except for when your carbs or ignition is faulty or out of adjustment it'll really show up, like heavy oil or carbon deposits.

I wish I had a picture to send but I don't.

I have a thought,If the engine is running fine, the plugs are probably the right color.

DHP

I usually see light tan ones.
