Hello,
Yesterday i ran my boat and when i put the engine into full throttle an alarm started sounding from one of the engines gauges. Prior to this i was doing some repair work so i had to disconnect the oil reservoir tank. Do you think that could be the problem? The engine was receiving oil and was not overheating because the water coming out off the peehole was normal. When i would let off the throttle the alarm would go away. It seemed that the alarm was making the engine fail a little to let you know there was a problem.

Thanks in advance

double check all the connections
you either have no oil or overheat warnings

the reason i think its not a bad connection is because when i ease off the throttle the alarm stops. And i dont think the engine is overheating because the water coming out of the peehole is normal. I think it might be that the oil reservoir is not sending oil to the reservoir in the engine. Could this be possible?

Yes it could. Start there, but varying with the rpm is likely a hot horn. Do any of the lights go on on the guages?

Don't go by the tell-tale (pee stream) to judge whether or not your cooling properly. If you don't have a water pressure gauge, then you really can't tell what condition the water pump is in.

When was the last time you changed the pump and the t-stats? That tell-tale is just an indication that there is water being pumped, not that there is enough water being pumped, especially at high RPM, it is just an offshoot from the pump, it does not indicate real pressure or flow. Water pressure gauges are the best way to tell these factors, but if it's been over 3 years with that pump and t-stat, it's time to change them.
