Very likely. Classic signs of fuel starvation. It would also be a good time to eliminate the fuel disconnect and get rid of the engine mounted filter as well as replace the fuel pumps. A fresh fuel water seperator would also be in order.

Ray,

I wanted to thank you for your help, you were exactly right, I replaced the quick disconnect, the fuel line and installed a new fuel water seperator and the engine has never run better. I have yet to have the boat on the lake as it rained all weekend but with the ears on you can tell that it is running like it should. I appreciate your help and you saved me a bundle on a potential repair bill at the Yamaha dealer.

Great news. That is the purpose of this board. The thanks is the reward posters some time get. Happy Boating.
