First time I have used the tilt trim this year. Ran the motor up to release the motor support and then it wouldn't run down or back up again. Good for me, this time, my pump releases and leaks out pressure, so after 3 minutes my motor was where I needed it. BUT I DON"T NEED IT THERE ANY MORE!!. Relays click, so switch is good. Bypassed relays and sometimes the down works, but the up has never worked after the initial use. So any ideas? and where is a good place for repair, of the motor and pump. Thanks BTW not leaking any fluid.

hot wire the motor. clicking relays are not a guarantee of good electricals. If it does not work when hotwired then you need to have pump assy rebuilt (motor + valve body). I used to list rebuilt pumps on ebay at $219 and rebuild service for about 30% less .... but I have been so busy fixing merc/mariner that all my force pumps are in a big, unrebuilt pile. I'm not sure what to advise. But - your leak down is valve body and if hotwiring does not work then you need a motor. It is best to do both at same time. If you do buy a new motor then arco, sierra, and mallory are worth paying extra for. Arco in particular has always made a good product.

I can probably have the motor rebuilt locally, but the pump is my concern, I did bypass the relays and on occasion get the down to work, but never the up. If you would be interested in rebuilding this one, I would be happy to ups it to ya. Thanks

look on ebay in about 30 minutes. I have a rebuilt pump assembly that I am about to list. the paint is blemished so it will be knocked of 20-30%. I was trying a short cut that didn't work out. When I get a pump that has rust I sandblast it, dip it in phosphoric acid, conversion coat it, prime it, and reglue magnets. All of which leaves me with a great field frame that has minor pitting and dimples all over the outside. I then use a primer filler and sand smooth before applying a topcaot paint. Its such a waste of time to spend 20 minutes for purely cosmetic reasons. So I thought maybe if I use flat black then i can skip the sanding? Nope. the pits and still stuff show through as soon as you get within a foot or two. So i'll be dumping the blemished unit on ebay this morning. I actually sat down at my computer specifically to upload the pictures. So check ebay soon. A good deal will pass by there shortly.
