I have a 1990 125 Johnson ( J125ESXESS) on my cobia and I need to see if the water valve is bypassed correctly because they are no longer available. Basically the valve has been removed and the port at the engine base ( where the water control valve used to get it's supply ) has been plugged off with a threaded plug and now the indicator hose( to make sure it's peeing) comes from the port side head from the original indicator hole. The thermostat housings and thermostats have been updated also , can someone that has done this tell me if this is correct ?

Yes it has solid thermostat housings from a late 1980's 70hp a long with those thermostats and springs and gaskets. I'm just wanting to double check that it's done correctly , by plugging the hole at the base and keeping the pee hole in the original location.

I have to test my overheat alarm and make sure it's good also. This is a project boat that I am finishing , so there are a few small things to be done before I can put it in the water and test it. Thank you for any help it is greatly appreciated.
