1990 175 evinrude on a 1989 organizer bass boat

I recently bought this boat it has been sitting for five years it has a eighth inch line runs from the motor to somewhere else then comes out of the bottom of the boat in the center mice have chewed it up cant tell where else it goes. Is it for speedometer? Do I need to replace it, can I plug it or needs replaced?

Is it a wire or a rubber tube ?? Where exactly does it come out ??

It is a rubber tube or maybe nylon it comes out dead center middle on bottom

Sounds like a speedo tube that hooks onto a fitting on the upper front part of the gear case.
