1990 30 hp AirBox????

Does a 1990 30 hp have an airbox?? Motor runs lean at wot and seems to need a slight amount of restriction to run good. A pump of the primer also hleps. Main jet is clear and float is set, I justed checked all that before posted

sounds like u need to adjust Ur idle/mixture screw
i looked on line and could not find a air box

No air box. With it running better when you use the primer bulb, it indicates a fuel pump problem or possible air leak from the tank to the pump (Running lean). Check all the fuel lines from the tank right up to the carb. You may also want to replace the primer bulb. If all those are good and tight with no leaks, then I would suspect the pump is bad...Does this problem happen at all speeds?

I started from the beginning again and rechecked everything that was done prior to me looking at it. When running the motor it would run decent at part throttle but as soon as you started to transfer from the idle circut to the main circut it would start to run out of fuel. Pumped the bulb and no effect. Tried a spare new pump and no change. Opened the carb to check the main jet size to be sure it was right and was clean. Also checked the float. All right on. Was putting the carb back together and there it was plain as day. Someone forgot to put the gasket on the center of the float bowl where the emulsion tube goes. Without that gasket the tube was pulling air, instead of fuel. Put it back together and she ran great. Now it just needs a link and sync and back in the water she goes!
