I am seriously thinking of purchasing a 1990 300hp Johnson motor. Everyone has said this is a really good motor. Ive owned lots of motors, but never one of these. I have a 25ft. boat, like a grady white cuddy. The boat had twin 150hp johnson's on it. Everyone has said the 300 is a good motor, but really likes gas. Likes gas is ok, but how much gas. Does anyone know how much per hour, or per mile they use. I don't run a boat all out. Once I get on top, I throttle back to about 3500-3750 rpm. How does it compare to twin 150". Im trying to get an idea what's its going to cost me to run the boat offshore 30 miles or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rusty

I replied to you, and thats probaly all you might get. Not everyone here has all the answers, and a few people who might know of the big V8's, are probably out boating........
