1990 35hp Force Tach connection HELP!

Where would I attach the sender wire for a tach? I tried the yellow/green stator wires and the tach worked for about 5 minutes, now it does nothing. Did I fry it from overvoltage? The other connections I made to it are as follows:

LT- To blue/yellow gauge lights wire under dash
GND- to black Ground bus
12v- to violet switched (acc) 12v at ignition switch
SEND- ???????

I attached the ignition schematic from the service manual for my particular motor. PLEASE HELP! Don't want to burn up another tach.

Either of the two stator wires would work but not both at the same time. Do you have an "automotive" tach by chance?
