Found a hole at bottom of midsection near one of the bolts. In one of the other threads someone said it was suppose to be there. I am curious if it is or not. The motor is running good, and water is spraying out ports. Changed gear oil and no water or metal in it. Any help would be appreciated.

the mid leg has to drain somewhere, probably thru your hole. A picture would confirm this. Go boating!

Sounds normal: On your motor I think it should drain from one of the four bolts that bolts the lower unit to the motor leg..if you look closely at where the water is exiting..there should be a pinhole from the factory..usually adjacent to those bolts...post a picture..foodfisher is right...go boating

Thanks everyone. This motor is new to me and these forums are absolutely incredible at answering the many questions I have.
