i have a 90hp force it runs good until it gets warm then when you put it in neutral it will sputter and die and is very hard to start.
i have taken it to the marina to be looked at the spark and compression check was good they sprayed carbon cleaner in the
carbs and re-synched the carbs they also adjusted the carbs and set the idle. i still have the problem also
when i go to shift into gear fwd or reverse the engine will die. i have put new gas 50:1 in and it has helped
with the idle some however it still kills when you put it in gear. any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Where the throttle link rod from the cable attaches to the towershaft there is a bolt that butts up to the engine block. That bolt adjusts the idle speed to stop stalling when shifting into gear.

I had a similar problem with my 1990 120 hp force for about 8 years. I finally had the carbs rebuilt and the problem went away. It has worked great now for about two years.

This is an engine question. It needs to be in an engines forum, where engine people hang out and where people go to learn about engines.
:)
