1990 Bayliner w/ Force L Drive to OMC 5.0?

My buddy has a 1990 Bayliner Hull he wants to sell me and I am thinking about rebuilding it. The hull and interior are nice but it needs a motor and complete drive system. I want to put a OMC/Chevy 5.0 or 5.7 liter motor in it. Will this bolt right into the motor compartment on the L Drive or am I going to run into complications? Any help would be greatly appreciated.<br /><br />Josh

JT,<br /><br />I think you may be getting in over your head.<br /><br />The "L" Drive was an anomoly at best. I'm not sure how they mounted, but it was different from an I/O.<br /><br />Also, I believe a 5.0 or 5.7 is gross overkill for that hull. At most, I believe they offered that hull with a 3.0 or a 4.3 at the most.<br /><br />Bayliner was noted for building the hull only strong enough to hold the powerplant originally installed.
