I am looking for spare props for my DP-A drive. Someone is selling a "volvo penta stainless prop F3 DuoProp". That is what it is titled as. Will this fit on my DP-A drive?

No, those are for the SX/DP-S drives. You need either B (alum) or C (SS) series props.

Thanks for the reply Don,
What does the number designation mean after the letter? B6 for example?

It's an arbitrary pitch number given by Volvo. Since both props are different pitches and designed to work together as a set, the higher number would indicate more pitch than a lower number. Don't mix props from different sets, it doesn't work.

Ayuh,.... Does Volvo list the expected performance/ pitch for their arbitrary numbers,..??

Like if yer turnin' 400 rpms low, 'n wanta swap, How far, which way do ya go...

I've only seen a few numbers, all single digit...

Are the Merc BIIIs done the same,..?? Same scale maybe,..??

Mercury lists their Bravo III prop sets as having the same pitch, but different diameters; with the front LH prop being the larger by an average of 1.5 inches.

Available pitches are 19,20,21,22.5,24,26, and 28.

Re: 1990 DP-A drive prop question.

I currently have a "B6" duo prop set on now. Being that I have not had this boat in the water, I will wait to get another set till after I see the performance of this set. The boat is only 22' long so, I dont expect the need to get something like "B4" or "B3". Any guesses on performance with this set? 22' Larson Hampton sport cruiser, 305 volvo penta "501" with DP-A outdrive. Boat weight is listed as 3300lbs.
I will say as a side note, that the sides and the bow on this boat are higher than alot of 22' boats Ive seen. Looks bigger than 22'.
