Hello everyone, I am doing a restore on a Pontoon boat we just purchased that has a 1990 48HP Evinrude. We had both batteries disconnected because we are tearing out the furniture and carpet for replacement. We noticed the motor was tilted up before we disconnected the batteries and electrical system.
I just hooked up one of the batteries to the terminals to tilt the motor down and heard a spark and now the motor wont move using the tilt. I think I had the cables backward.
So my question is , is there an inline fuse in the motor somewhere that would have blown? I looked around and could not find one in the open. Is there one hidden behind a plate or inside a case somewhere? Searching other discussions people are saying there is a 20 amp glass tube fuse somewhere but I cannot find it.
