Hi All, I have a 1990 Evinrude 150 hp V6 outboard that I had rebuilt before I winterized it in November. I broke the engine in and have no more than 5 hours of use on it. I then winterized the engine and 2 weeks ago I dewinterized it by taking it out for a couple of hours. I then checked the compression on it and they are 98, 99, 100, 100, 100, 101. I did the lower numbers again, (98 and 99) and the 98 jumped to 99 and the 99 jumped to 100. I did them again and the they went back to 98 and 99. I did not retest the others.
Hey guys, are these numbers okay? I paid good money to have the engine rebuilt. I can't find what the compression should be for that engine but someone told me that over 90 is okay .
What ya think?

The readings are on the lower side as a whole but they are all within a few percent of each other and thats great.Did you do compression test with a fully warmed motor?? Were all plugs removed when doing test??

Those #s are not on the low side for that motor. I would re-check after about 20 hrs. I should have asked is that the standard 150 or the gt
