At the end of last season I head a problem with my forward and reverse engaging. Found the problem to be the linkage needed adjustment. During my test run with it, the Overheat alarm came on. I attempted to turn the Boat around and could not turn off the engine fast enough before the engine stopped running. Received a tow back to the dock and took it home. Attempts to restart have failed. Engine turns over but does not seem to get spark or fuel. Looking for advise on what to check. Found the reason for overheating to be a hose clamp that came off of the coolant line.

Hose clamp?? coolant line?? Pictures please?
I don't remember any coolant lines??

Is the kill switch on?
As far as the not starting, do a compression test, then a spark test.
Then tell us about the results.
