1990 Force L-Drive 90hp, Lower Unit ????

My 1990 Force L-Drive 90hp runs great, it has a shifting issue, goes into forward and neutral and but not reverse. I have checked the cable and leakage all checks out. I have removed the cable from the the shift arm and manual shifted it, it went in to forward and then into reverse but now it wont go into any gear but neutral. My guess is is the clutch.. But what I am finding out is that you need special tools to get to it. Plus it looks like I will have to replace more than just the clutch. More than likley the Prop Shaft, Reverse Gear, Forward Gear, both bearings in which these part arent cheap or easy to find.

Can anyone tell me is the Lower Unit from the 1990 90hp interchangable with the 120 hp L-Drive???
