Just bought 1990 Nitro with GT 150 off original owner. Sat for a long time, did waterpump, therm, plugs, wires,carbs..ect. After running a few minutes, idles without throttle help, but coughs and cut out after in idle a bit, but easy restart. Boat really moves nice until past weekend While at 5800 rpm it felt like motor completly died
but it droped to 3000 rpm. Under 2900 rpm the motor runs clean, over 3000 rpm it breaks up evenly, sounds and feels like theres a rev-limiter holding it from going over 3000 rpm's, I'd like to test the coils and pack but probally don't have the right tools. Any input welcome.. Thanks for all help.

Howdy, Aquanut.

Welcome to iboats. :)

I am gonna guess that the GT 150 is a JohnnyRude and that you really meant to post this in Johnson Troubles.

I will move it for you.

Good luck. :)
