Last week end changed the steering cable. This weekend no spark. I tried many of the tests in Seloc Book with no luck and found no loose grounds, also tested the man overboard lanyard. Originally I did try to start motor with battery charger hooked up. Could this have cooked the power pac? It does not smell burned. Dumbfounded...

Did you try testing the powerpack yet? or the rectifier for that matter?

Using a battery charger wouldn't do any harm UNLESS you had it hooked up backwards (reverse polarity).

Remove all of the spark plugs. Rig up a spark tester whereas you can set a 7/16" gap for the spark to jump. Disconnect the large RED electrical plug at the engine. Crank the engine to test the spark by using a small jumper from the battery cable terminal of the starter solenoid to the small 3/8" nut on the solenoid that energizes it.

If you now have spark, replace the ignition switch. Let us know what you find.

I was going on the assumption that he had performed those tests Joe ,as he stated he tested the kill switch, etc.

Thank you for the quick feed back. I have not tried the test with the red connector unplugged nor the power pac test. I am running out of day light so I will look into these tomorrow evening. Thanks again and I'll keep my fingers crossed.
