Hello everyone, I’m new to the group but I’ve been following the post for a while now. Until now I was able to find any answer I needed simply by searching the forum.
I haven’t been able to find a specific answer to my current problem. I had to pull the flywheel off to replace a broken magnet and there appears to be a coil missing from my stator (picture attached). No where have I been able to find out what it did or wether it’s bad that it’s missing, but every picture I’ve seen of my stator shows the coil being there. The motor does run and runs well. I did recently replace the timer base and CDI. Anyone have any ideas?

Update to the above:
After a ton of research it seems the stator on the engine is from an older model last used in 87 without the quick start. So my question is will I damage the CDI if I don’t have the quick start connected? Can I use this engine without it?
