1990 johnson 200hp fuel

i have a 1990 johnson 200hp at wot it bogot and top speed is only 50 mph and rpm shows 5500 does that sound right and when i'm at low speed like in the 5 mph zone and it will not stay idle when switching from forward to netuerl or revesre to netuerl or when just in netuerl only rpm read 500-600what is my probelm i have check all 6 carbs and they look fine do they have two needle in it

can someone help it makes it hard to load on the trailer when it does that

well, you need to set your idle stop screw so the motor will idle at 600-750 in gear, in the water. with out knowing the size boat, 14' or 30' there is no way to tell if you are propped correctly. 5500 is not bad closer to 5800 would be better, which means a prop change. post this in the prop forum.
