Hello, I currently have a 1990 Johnson 25hp Outboard on my 19" Sylvan Pontoon Boat. I'm looking to install various gauges in the boat, Fuel, Volt, Tack and Speedo. The Fuel and Volt seem pretty simple, but is there anything I need to look for when getting the Tack and Speedo?
I'm also looking to get a 20+ gal fuel tank, anyone have any suggestions on where to pick one up? A guy has them on ebay starting at $75 and usually go from the $75 up to $100.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

The speedo is also simple. It simply requires the guage, tubing an a pitot tube. They usually come in kits. The trick will be finding a place on one of the toons to mount the pitot tube. If it were me, I wouldn't bother. Speedo's are notoriously inaccurate, particularly at slow speeds.

The tachometer requires your engine to have an alternator. If your engine has electric start, it probably does.

Look at the the control box for the engine. It may have a plug receptacle, just below the key. That is where an OMC tach. plugs in. You will require the tach. and an adapter cable.

Check out this outfit for guages. Rock bottom prices and good service.

www.surplusunlimited.com
