1990 Johnson 70hp, no alarm at ignition ON

When I turn the key on the ignition, the alarm does not sound. I'm sure it should turn on just for 1-2 seconds as a check. I know it works, I shorted it using the temp sensor connection. I replaced the ignition last fall using a SeaChoice 11651 which cross referenced the 393301 that's called out. There has to be a simple circuit somewhere that I can check that allows it to sound the alarm for the 1-2 seconds. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is this switch in the remote control or are you a binnacle mount with seperate switch and warning beeper?

The ignition switch and buzzer are on the remote control.
