I am looking for suggestions on how to replace the glass in the lower windshield of the hard top. The corner of the port side window leaked and rotted the wood header in the cuddy cabin. Without support beneath the window broke when I hit a wake. So I have removed all of the screws of the windshield on the outside and the nuts and bolts under the window attaching to the bow deck. I have also removed the rotten header.
Unfortunately I appear to be stuck because the entire hard top of the boat needs to be lifted in order to slide out the windshield. It also appears that I need to lift the entire hardtop in order to install a new plywood header in the bow deck holding up the cuddy roof. That would require removal of the rivets and anything else attached, splitting the hull from the hard top. A huge job I would like to avoid if possible. Any suggestions are more than welcome. A previous post with this make/model of boat (1988) ended at this exact point so I am not sure if he was successful detaching the hard top.
