1991 16'6 Blue Fin Spectrum gas tank question

I am wondering if anyone else on the board owns this peticular model boat and what you have for a gas tank? I am tired of tripping over the tank! There is not enough room under the back storage for a tank to fit and I am looking for ideas.

Here are the options (and there are more if you search) http://www.iboats.com/Moeller-Perme...6898246--**********.389062815--view_id.483752 for a lower profile tank.

You could also get a saddle tank that mounts down the sides of the boat.

The last option is to maybe cut the deck open and mount one partially below deck.

I think that I am going to try and tig weld a gas tank to custom fit my boat. I will post pictures when I am finished.

Finally finished my tank. First time tig welding so I think that it worked out pretty darn good. Oh and BTW no leaks!!!!!!!!

I ended up making it 15W X 15.5L X 8H so I believe its close to 8 gallons. Thanks for the compliments.
