1991 25hp Johnson Bottom Crank Seal Retainer Torque

Hi, I replaced the main bearing in my 1991 25hp Johnson and the lower seal carrier has 3 bolts and when I tighten them down it binds the crankshaft bearing making it hard to spin the crank by hand. Am I suppose to lock tight them and snug them until the crank feels tighter? Thanks for any suggestions.

Nope------Something is wrong.------Those 3 screws are torqued to 80 inch lbs.----Check your work.-------Did you have the crankshaft out of the block ?----Located the center bearing on the dowel pin ?

Reset and torqued correctly and spins like it should. Thank you!

And what exactly was wrong.

I must have been careless on dowel pin, hard to tell exactly. Got it together and fired it up, but can't test it until lakes melt in late April.
