Ok so I have found a 99 4.3 long block for my boat. My engine was originally a 1991. Will I still be able to use my flywheel as far as balancing goes? And harmonic balancer.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,...... I don't believe yer old flywheel, 'n balancer will work properly,....

The 4.3l went through Many changes in both pieces over the years,....

So many, I can't figure 'em all out,.....

The 4.3l flywheels especially, are very different,..... besides the usual 12" or 14" flywheels,....

They are automotive flywheels. Right off the GM assembly line, in fact..

Unfortunately, if the parts numbers are different, you need to find someone who tried the crossover or you need to physically compare the two. I think they are the same, they both had one piece seal and the same diameter. But I would have to figure out some way to confirm that since the part numbers are different.

I think they are the same,

Ayuh,.... The motors are pre-balance shaft, 'n post-balance shaft, which is why I'm thinkin' they're different,...

Then once you have the correct flywheel and harmonic balancer/damper, see how the coupler mates up. And see how the rear mount fits.
