1991 40 hp carb hose - what for

My 1991 40 hp has dual carbs. There is a hose which runs from the top of one carb to the the top of the other carb. Is this hose there for any good reason? Like equalizing the pressure on the negative side to the throttle plates of each carb. This question is more for the theory guys.

it is the fuel line for the primer system. instead of a choke you have a primer. it squirts fuel directly into the intake when you push the key in. for cold starts.

Have a look at the link for your specific engine. There are two lines coming off the primer. One to each carb. Take a closer look at yours and I think/hope you will find that is how yours is connected too. Best of luck. Rick.
