I am the proud owner of a 1991 Evinrude Intruder 150. I purchased the engine over the winter did some maintenence to the engine before using. When I began to use the engine it ran great but the overheat alarm kept sounding off under acceleration. I spoke to a mechanic and he told me to look for restrictions in the fuel supply line. He felt that it was getting lean due to a restriction in the fuel line causing the cylinders to produce more heat than they should causing the alarm to go off. Well he was correct, I replaced the intire fuel line new furel filter and everything and the alarm stopped sounding off. Now I have another problem...The engine will run great for around five minutes before it begins to sputter and sounds like it is running on three cylinders and when you begin to accelerate it really falls on its face and quits running. I can either let it sit for about ten minutes or prime the fuel line with the primer solenoid valve and get it running again. And again it runs fine for a few minutes and same thing all over again. Any ideas anyone?????????????
