Please help, I'm new to the boating life and so far loving it besides the couple issues I have.
I have a 1991 force 120 on a thunderbolt 18ft fishing boat, but when I take it to the lake I go to crank it and it takes a couple turns from the key to crank. Then it finally cranks after a few tries. When I put it in gear slowly it dies, have to put it gear really fast to stay cranked.
Then it finally takes off but it hesitates to go fast, it stalls for like 2 mins at full throttle. Then slowly it will go fast enough to make the boat come down to haul butt

Welcome.
First do a compression and spark test.
Post the results.

Check the fuel system: replace ALL the hoses and connectors and squeezie.
They used 2 types of fuel pumps and choke/primer systems on the 91/12
Check the fuel pump diaphragm.
Check the choke operation.
Check the primer operation.

You have a tach?
It should be about 1100-1200 in N
800 in F gear.
No tach, they sell an item called a Tiny Tach
On Amazon or e-bay it can be had for under 25$

The top couple of post in this forum are posts that cover setup and other things that can help your motor run better.
Read these and see if they help.

I will check these things as soon as I get home, as I'm at work right now.
