Re: 1991 Force 150 Trim Limit
HINT: The engine transom clamps on pre-Mercury engines are relatively thin, and the trim ram assembly will usually rotate a bit and bear on the fiberglass of the transom too. It pays, and I do it on all my Chrysler and Force engines, to put a hard aluminum plate about .080 to .125 inch thick against the transom. Make the plate about 16 inches wide by 13 inches deep so the clamps and trim assembly have something other than fiberglass to bear against. This cushions the transom and keeps the clamps from digging into the glass. You will most likely need to drill a 1 1/2 inch hole to clear the transom drain. Do not use diamond plate; it is relatively soft and less desirable.
