Is a 1991 Force 90 hp a Chrysler or Mercury ? Confused !!!

whats the serial number should have a tag somewhere on the motor. then crossreference that number threw google im sure you can find something.

Welcome to iboats joelvega.

It was made by Mercury.


Pre 1965 motors were made by West Bend Corp.
1966-1984 were made by Chrysler.
1984-1989 were made by US Marine.
1990-1999 were made by Brunswick, which is the parent company of Mercury Marine.


Your 1990 model shares many of the old Chrysler and US Marine parts and designs.

So is 95 when you see essentially the older force power head sitting on a Mercury lower end?

Pretty much. There were alot of changes going on throughout the 90's.

Depends on the hp.
The 70 hp was introduced in 1991, and had the Merc midsection, lower, and ignition system from the start.
