1991 johnson 200 hp anygood?

I'm looking at buying a 18ft. stratos bass boat with a johnson 200 on it from a local dealer. they took the boat in on trade and it looks really nice. They say they went over the motor and it has good compression and runs good on the hose. I will be taking it out this week for a test ride. If it checks out I will probably get it unless I'm made aware of any faults with this type of motor by you guys. my other boats are all I/O's and one little honda 7.5 outboard that runs like a champ so I have no real experience with outboards. The overall condition of the boat leads me to belive it was well cared for. also what kind of performance can I expect from this boat? thanks

The johnson motor has been around for quit a while and when properly serviced will give you several hours that will mount into years of fun.<br />as for performance on that set up it sounds like you are buying what was a tournament fishing boat with that large of h/p it should make that stratos scream on the water.<br />BTW I have two johnsons that are 40 odd years old and still purring.
