1991 Johnson 200 VRO alarm testing?

Well the motor is actually a '91 and I guess it's a sea horse or something. It doesnt say ocean pro but it is a white motor. Anyway is there a way to test the warning system for the vro? when you turn the key on there is a buzzer that chirps and dies out. Now the vro seems fine but I would like to KNOW the warning will go sound if it stops mixing. Thanks all!

you can open the oil tank and try to push the float down the alarm will sound for low oil if you have a 4 wire VRO.. im not sure how many beeps, i believe a beep every 30 sec .... you could also try to mix 50:1 gas and oil in a small container, hook it up to the fuel line and disconnect or pinch the oil line so no oil can flow through it.... or disconnect the oil line and plug it.... but make sure once you plug it back you follow the correct air purge procedure... good luck

What would the purge process be? let the fluid run through the line and then connect? Thanks

yes... prime the bulb until you see oil coming out.... while you prime slowly connect the line to the pump and clamp it down....

if bulb not hard prime it until hard... once the bulb is firm should stay firm... if after a while is soft then you have a leak... good lcuk
