Is it possible to remove my VRO2 pump and replace it with a standard fuel pump? The oil side of the pump was disconnected by previous owner and the engine ran fine. However, I am now experiencing an engine "stumble" as I am running the engine. I have changed the plugs and used a portable tank with new bulb and lines to see if there was a problem with my onboard tank setup. The engine still stumbled or missed. I was thinking the VRO2 pump might be at fault. Any ideas?

Pump the bulb when it stumbles to test pump.
If the engine picks up, its the pump.
I would rebuild carbs too.
Sierra replacement pumps are a lot cheaper than johnson. (fuel only).

Does the bulb go flat when it does this. Could be venting of the tanks. Most likely pump though.

Fuel pump BRP # 433390, will work with that motor, using the pulse line. check the advice above first.
