1991 Mercury 2 stroke engine

Help please I just purchased a used boat and motor and I have no idea if I have the correct info or not. serial number is 0D196200 and I think (from ifo that I found on the web) it may be 1991?? Does anyone know for sure? I also want the know what gap to set the spark plugs at?? Thank you Rick

1991 sounds about right, I can tell you for sure when I get to the shop tomorrow. The plug, for 1991-2001 50hp engines NGK #BU8H should be gapped at .040"

Your engine is a 1993 60hp (not a 91 as I thought sorry) but the plug gap remains the same at .040". Happy boating!
