1991 yamaha 175 and new digital tach

hi there i have a new set of digital gauges and i would love to know if i can fit them and if i can how. none of the connectors fit and i need to know what wire does what on the tach and speed units

Yamaha has a harness and/or adapter(goes under helm) that you'll need to buy, the book is at work, so don't have part # here....the new gauges won't work without the adapter on engines pryor to '05...don't know what gauge you got, buy probably 82 series tach(pink wire bulleted to itself on back), if so this is what to ask for.

yes there are some adapters for some of the post 95 gauges to pre-95 engines but there are also some tachs that yamaha simply doesnt reccomend to be used with older engines.
the 05/06 marine technical guide or the 07 marine technical guide has the information.
