Having resolved the ignition problems have discovered that the flywheel internally is pretty scored, now i have a spare flywheel from an earlier model, that is 2 teeth smaller but by changing the starter bendix can get around this.
Now i have attached 3 pics showing the flywheels 2 of them together and one seperatly, the one on the left is the older model and factory painted, the one on the right is the one from the engine in question, will the painted one work with my CD2 ignition system, which is mounted internally compared to the one fitted which is mounted externally and fed via a pic up simmilar to the damaged original.
