1992 25hp tiller to remote

Hello to everybody!

I have a 25hp 1992 yamaha tiller control outboard. I am planning to built a central console on my jon boat. Does anybody knows if I can convert the tiller to remote steering on my outboard ? If yes, which part do I need?
The engine number is G25MSHQ

You can convert this motor, but you will need a lot of parts, some of which are not available here at Iboats.com.

1. Rigging Kit - Allows hookup of throttle and shifting cables to the motor.
2. Control Unit - Probly a Yamaha 703 - not sure if available here.
3. Cables - Priced per foot - available here
4. Steering - Many versions, available here

Yamaha's website offers blowup pics and part numbers by model number. Look to spend at least 500 bucks on this stuff if you can't find it used.

Personally, I'd get the boat all set up and have a pro do it, at least the Rigging Kit. I have a kicker that's set up for all this stuff and another that isn't. You'd be surprised by the number of parts that's in that kit, just to get the thing to operate remotely...
